Zamfara: NSCDC Apprehends Four Suspects Supplying Fuel To Bandits

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended four individuals suspected of supplying fuel to bandits in the region. The suspects were paraded by Commandant Sani Mustafa at the command headquarters in Gusau, where 40 bunches of copper wire and 40 jerricans of petrol (PMS) were recovered.

According to Commandant Sani Mustafa, the suspects violated both the shari’a penal code and a state executive order. The arrests were made following recent surveillance activities by the NSCDC in the state.

Speaking through the command’s public relations officer, Ikor Oche, Commandant Sani Mustafa highlighted the successful operations conducted by the Corps in recent days. Among the suspects paraded was Sani Yakubu, who was apprehended for vandalizing electric cables at Government Day Secondary School Tudun Wada Gusau.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Sani Yakubu had a history of vandalizing electrical wires within the school premises and selling the stolen items to scrap dealers. He was caught in the act of vandalization and found in possession of 40 bunches of copper wires.

In another operation, Malam Isah Ahmed, along with two others, was apprehended for purchasing PMS products in large quantities, which contravened an Executive Order issued by the State Government banning the sale of PMS in jerricans. The suspects were found in possession of 40 jerricans of PMS.

Commandant Sani Mustapha emphasized that all suspects would be prosecuted after thorough investigation. He also issued a stern warning to the public to refrain from criminal activities, stating that offenders would face severe consequences.
