The All Progressives Congress (APC) has sadly confirmed the passing of Comfort Adebanjo, a valued member, along with six others, in a tragic incident while attempting to purchase seized rice being sold by the Nigeria Customs Service to alleviate the economic challenges in the country.
The ruling party conveyed its condolences on Saturday through an obituary message, mourning the loss of Adebanjo and the other individuals involved.
The seized food items were being distributed by the Customs Service in response to the pressing issues of food security and the escalating costs of essential food items nationwide.
The unfortunate stampede occurred on Friday, resulting in the loss of seven lives.
Oluwafemi Fadahunsi, the Coordinator of FKL Ward E1, Lagos State APC, and Comrade Adebari Adewale, the Secretary, confirmed Adebanjo’s passing among the casualties.
In the obituary released, the party expressed, “It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of one of our esteemed members, Mrs. Adebanjo Comfort Funmilayo of house number 104, Ibidun street by AKINHANMI street, Ojuelegba, who was among the seven victims tragically lost while attempting to purchase custom rice at Yaba.
“May the Almighty grant solace to her family members and all residents of WARD E1 as they navigate through this irreparable loss.”
