Gathering at the Secretariat Flyover bridge, the protesters voiced their grievances over the unbearable economic strain and insecurity plaguing not only Plateau State but also various regions across the nation.
Expressing deep concern, protesters urged swift intervention from the Federal Government to alleviate the suffering endured by Nigerians.
Specifically, they called for decisive measures to tackle the prevailing security crisis gripping the nation.
Eugene Mangji, the state Chairman of the NLC, spearheaded the protests, emphasizing the widespread discontent among Nigerians. He lamented the rapid escalation of fuel prices, which surged from N197 to over N700 within a short span, exacerbating the financial burdens faced by citizens.
Highlighting the ripple effects of the economic downturn, Mangji underscored the plight of students and the broader populace grappling with soaring prices of goods and services, exacerbated by a weakening exchange rate.
As the protest unfolded, a heavy presence of law enforcement officers and security personnel was observed, ensuring the maintenance of order and averting potential unrest.
