In response to a recent bandit attack on Goningora, residents of Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, have staged a protest, resulting in the blockage of the Abuja-Kaduna highway.
The incident, which occurred overnight on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, led to the abduction of multiple community members and left several others injured.
According to reports from Channels Television, aggrieved residents took to the streets on Thursday morning, causing significant traffic congestion and leaving many motorists stranded.
Tragically, two individuals, including a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force, lost their lives during the attack.
This incident follows closely on the heels of a recent military operation that resulted in the elimination of notorious bandit leader, Boderi Isyaku, and some of his associates in the same area.
In a retaliatory move, the bandits reportedly set fire to a military armoured vehicle when confronted by soldiers attempting to thwart their activities.
