The Hisbah Commission in Kano state, Northern Nigeria, has summoned Adnan Mukhtar Tudun Wada, the manager of PRNigeria News and Public Relations Company, over a controversial article published in the Politics Digest newspaper.
The article in question reported allegations made by Murja Ibrahim Kunya, a prominent TikTok personality, accusing Hisbah officials of harassment during her arrest.
Initially, Adnan received a phone call requesting his appearance before the commission, but he later requested a written invitation instead of engaging in verbal dispute.
In a conversation with The Spectacles following Friday prayers, Adnan confirmed the story and his willingness to cooperate with the commission.
The invitation from the Hisbah Commission follows remarks by its chairman, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, prompted by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s concerns regarding the commission’s approach towards combating moral transgressions in Kano.
Recently, Hisbah detained Murja Ibrahim Kunya on allegations of adultery, citing concerns about her influence on youth morality. She was subsequently brought before the court and remanded in a correctional facility.
News of her release sparked speculation among the populace, with some alleging government intervention, a claim vehemently denied by the authorities.
