In Zamfara, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) commenced a 5-day training program for 50 women in souvenir and tie-dye production, as part of its Small Skills Entrepreneurship (SSE) initiative.
During the launch in Gusau, the state capital, Khadija Hamza Kolo, the coordinator of NDE in Zamfara, emphasized the goal of empowering women through self-employment in small businesses.
Khadija Hamza Kolo highlighted the NDE’s commitment to providing job opportunities and promoting self-employment among women in Zamfara through various training programs.
The training will focus on equipping 30 women with skills in souvenir production, including shoes and bags, while 20 women will receive training in tie-dye techniques.
The initiative aims to enhance employment prospects for women, particularly those lacking formal skills, fostering self-sufficiency within the state.
Beneficiaries are urged to prioritize punctuality and diligently acquire the necessary skills to enable successful self-employment.
