Katsina: Army’s Counter-Insurgency Operation Killed Notorious Terrorist Leader

In a significant blow to terrorist activities in Katsina State, Nigerian Army troops have successfully eliminated Maikusa, a high-ranking terrorist leader believed to be second-in-command under the notorious Modi Modi.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, confirmed the operation’s success in a statement released on Tuesday.

During the intense operation conducted in Kurfi and Safana Local Government Areas on Monday, March 4, 2024, soldiers engaged in a fierce shootout, resulting in Maikusa’s demise and the elimination of three other terrorists.

The statement highlighted the soldiers’ valor in overcoming the extremists’ resistance and seizing significant weaponry, including AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and camouflage uniforms.

Additionally, the troops demolished terrorist camps in various villages, further disrupting their operations in the region.
