BREAKING: NLC Advocates ₦794,000 Minimum Wage For S’West Workers

The Nigeria Labour Congress is advocating for a new national minimum wage of ₦794,000 for workers in the South West geopolitical zone.

During the ongoing public hearing of the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage in Ikeja, Lagos, Funmi Sessi, the chairperson of the Lagos State chapter of the NLC, presented the demand on behalf of the labour union in the South West.

This demand was collectively agreed upon by all members of the union in the region.

On January 30, 2024, President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, inaugurated a 37-member panel on the new minimum wage in the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.
