Many State Governors Failing to Support FG in Alleviating Hardship

During the 129th General Executive Council (GEC) meeting in Abuja, the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics (SSANIP) expressed concern over the lack of support from many state governments in addressing the current hardships faced by Nigerians.

In a communiqué signed by SSANIP’s National President, Comrade Adebanjo Ogunsipe, and National Secretary, Comrade Nura Gaya, the union highlighted the growing food insecurity and economic challenges exacerbated by unchecked inflation, fueled by the removal of fuel subsidy and the fluctuation of the national currency.

While acknowledging the Federal Government’s efforts through various interventionist policies, SSANIP criticized the slow implementation and inadequacy of these measures to alleviate mounting pressures on labor.

The communiqué urged the Federal Government to take proactive steps and called on state governors to justify their increased allocations by providing responsive palliative measures to their citizens.

Regarding insecurity, SSANIP noted the persistent threat and its impact on food scarcity, emphasizing the need for decisive action by the government to neutralize criminal elements and ensure economic policies are not hindered.
