The Zamfara State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aisha Anka, has taken action to suspend all medical outreach activities carried out by unidentified Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and individual entities.
Expressing deep concern over unauthorized medical outreach initiatives, the Commissioner emphasized the need for proper authorization from the ministry.
During a management meeting with directors and senior officers of the ministry, Dr. Anka highlighted the recent declaration of a State of Emergency in the health sector by Governor Dauda Lawal. She underscored the importance of adhering to established procedures for any organization or individual wishing to support the state’s health initiatives.
“While the state welcomes assistance from organizations and individuals, it is imperative to follow due process,” stated the commissioner.
