Sokoto Gov Approves Half Salary for Workers, Pensioners as Ramadan Gift

In a generous move aimed at ensuring the comfort of Muslims during Ramadan, Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Sokoto, has approved the payment of half salary as a Ramadan gift to all civil servants, including primary school teachers, local government staff, and pensioners in the state.

The governor’s media aide, Abubakar Bawa, stated in a Sunday press release that the gesture is part of the governor’s commitment to ensuring that Muslims in the state can comfortably observe this year’s Ramadan fast.

Governor Aliyu has called on the Muslim community to use this sacred month to pray for Allah’s intervention in Nigeria’s numerous challenges. He also urged traders and affluent individuals in the state to show compassion to the less fortunate, emphasizing that such acts of kindness are rewarded during Ramadan.

The governor expressed his gratitude to the people of Sokoto for their unwavering support and prayers, which he believes have been instrumental in the successes achieved by his administration so far.
