President Bola Tinubu has given the green light to the appointment of a Head of Service, along with Permanent Secretaries for the nine Secretariats under the Federal Capital Territory Administration, along with other members of the FCT Civil Service Commission.
Anthony Ogunleye, Chief Press Secretary to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, announced this in a statement on Tuesday.
The minister had earlier, in October 2023, revealed that the President had authorized the establishment of the Civil Service Commission for the Federal Capital Territory.
During a meeting with FCTA and Federal Capital Development Authority directors on March 4, 2024, Wike also mentioned that the commission would appoint nine permanent secretaries to supervise the secretariats.
In the statement, Ogunleye outlined that the President had endorsed the appointment of a Chairman and six others as Commissioners of the CSC, along with the Head of Service and nine others as Permanent Secretaries.
The appointments, effective immediately, will be sworn in on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Additionally, the President has sanctioned the appointments of heads of key agencies within the FCTA, including Abdulkadir Zulkarfi as Coordinator of the Satellite Town Development Department, Chief Felix Obuah as Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, and Oladiran Akindele as Coordinator of the Abuja Infrastructure Investment Council.
