President Bola Tinubu is currently hosting a Ramadan Iftar (breaking of fast) for state governors at the Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
These governors constitute the President’s initial Iftar guests, with more such gatherings anticipated with senior government officials throughout the holy month.
In previous Ramadan seasons, former President Muhammadu Buhari convened similar gatherings with the leadership of the National Assembly, the Judiciary, the All Progressives Congress, and traditional rulers, among others.
Although the meeting is not open to full media coverage, our correspondent observed the arrival of governors around 6:30 PM.
As of this report, governors in attendance include those from Kwara, Delta, Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Kebbi, Bauchi, Borno, Ogun, Nassarawa, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Gombe, Abia, Edo, and Kaduna.
