Leave Grants: Ibrahim Tudu Cautions Zamfara Media Aid to Watch their Words

The Spectacles reported that Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State planned to provide salary bonuses to workers during the month of Ramadan as a gesture of blessings. However, the Zamfara State government’s media aides issued a press release stating that the government had instead paid a leave grant to the workers.

This caused confusion among the workers, as they were accustomed to receiving a leave grant equivalent to their salary during the previous administrations.

This unexpected change sparked frustration among the workers, leading to expressions of discontent. Ibrahim Tudu, one of those expressing his sentiments, clarified the distinction between leave grants and bonuses and therefore cautioned Zamfara government media aid to watch their words on his Facebook page.

Despite the confusion, he commended Governor Dauda for his efforts and expressed gratitude on behalf of the workers, wishing for continued prosperity and security in Zamfara state.

His words read in part;

“HEAD OR TAIL; LEAVE GRANT OR BONUS?. Media aides should watch their words.

Leave grant is a special payment to workers when they are on leave, holiday or vacation. They are entitled to it once annually when on leave or not. It may also be a percentage of their wages.

Bonuses are paid as a certain percentage of their normal salary or annual income but as extra payment over salary. They are usually reward, gift or added incentive.

Which one is which? I know you will say it doesn’t matter money is money. Where past govt failed another is taking up the mantle of leadership. Bravo.

H. E. Dauda ma’iakata na godiya. Allah ya kara arziki da tsaro ga jahar mu ta Zamfara, ameen”
