Tinubu Urged Govs to Prioritize Governance Over Politics During Iftar Gathering

…assurances were made regarding the payment of wage awards to workers.

President Bola Tinubu, during a Ramadan Iftar at the Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, urged state governors to unite in governance despite political differences.

Tinubu emphasized the transformation in the country since his assumption of office nine months ago, assuring Nigerians of a brighter future.

Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, conveyed Tinubu’s message titled ‘President Tinubu to Governors: Prioritize Governance Over Politics.’

During the gathering, Tinubu underscored the importance of the holy month of Ramadan and urged Nigerians to embrace reflection, prayers, and charity.

He emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among Nigerians, comparing the nation to a family living under one roof but sleeping in different rooms.

Despite acknowledging the challenges facing the nation, Tinubu expressed optimism about the future, crediting ongoing solutions for positive changes.

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, praised the Federal Government’s efforts in distributing grains and highlighted the importance of collaboration between national and state governments.

Regarding workers’ wages, AbdulRazaq assured that states would fulfill their obligations.

In addition, AbdulRazaq urged governors to engage in farming activities to better understand and address the challenges faced by farmers.

The governors were the President’s first Iftar guests, and similar gatherings are expected throughout the holy month.
