Reports are flooding in of a raging fire consuming Sokoto Central Market, particularly devastating the motorcycle section.
According to an eyewitness, the inferno ignited early this morning, though the exact cause remains unknown.
Yet, insider information suggests the fire originated from a nearby dump site, sparking panic among vendors and shoppers alike.
Shehu Muhammad, chairman of the Motorcycles Marketers Association, lamented the inability to assess the full extent of damage due to the ongoing blaze.
“We’re unable to tally the losses as the fire continues to rage. Many shops, along with countless motorcycles, have succumbed to the flames since it broke out at 6 am,” Muhammad expressed.
While fire brigades from both federal and state levels battle the inferno, Muhammad acknowledges the daunting task ahead.
He earnestly urges the state government to extend assistance to those affected by this devastating ordeal.
