Nigerians Abroad Taking Jobs They Reject at Home – Remi Tinubu

Remi Tinubu, wife of former President Bola Tinubu, criticized Nigerians living abroad who take on jobs they wouldn’t consider in Nigeria.

In an interview with Arise News, she urged Nigerians to support each other during the economic crisis, emphasizing the importance of individuals helping those in need.

Tinubu expressed her disappointment with Nigerians who choose to leave the country (“japa”) only to engage in menial jobs abroad, questioning their decisions.

She highlighted the irony of individuals with advanced education driving taxis in foreign countries while they refuse similar opportunities back home where they have family support.

“It’s a time for us as Nigerians to lend a helping hand to one another,” she remarked, suggesting that relying solely on government assistance is not a sustainable solution.

Tinubu’s wife comments underscore a broader sentiment regarding the diaspora’s role in national development and the challenges faced by many who seek better opportunities outside Nigeria.
