El-Rufai Paid Solidarity Visit to Suspended Senator Ningi

Former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir el-Rufai paid s solidarity visits to embattled Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, who was recently suspended from the Senate following his outspoken comments on the 2024 budget.

Senator Ningi, a former Majority Leader in the Senate representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stirred controversy when he alleged that a substantial sum of N3.7 trillion in the 2024 budget lacked proper accountability and was not allocated to tangible projects. His remarks led to his suspension from Senate proceedings for three months, sparking debates within and outside the political arena.

El-Rufai’s visit to Ningi is interpreted as a gesture of solidarity and support for the senator during his challenging period. It highlights the significance of political alliances and unity within the political landscape, particularly in times of adversity.

The Spectacles earlier reported Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former Kano State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the NNPP in the 2023 General Election, also visited Senator Ningi three days ago, demonstrating solidarity amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the budget allegations.

The visits from both prominent political figures underscore the importance of standing by colleagues facing adversity and defending the principle of speaking truth to power within the political sphere.

They serve as reminders of the complexities and dynamics within Nigeria’s political landscape, where alliances and support networks play crucial roles in navigating challenging situations.
