Nasarawa Versity Students are Dying While Struggle to Obtain Food Palliatives

In a tragic incident at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, two female students lost their lives in a stampede at the university’s convocation square. The stampede occurred during the distribution of palliatives by the Nasarawa State government, leaving several others injured.

According to a source within the university, the two students died due to suffocation caused by the large crowd. Many others sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

Yunusa Baduku, the National President of the Nasarawa State Students Association, described the incident as uncalled for and tragic. He explained that the students overpowered security, leading to chaos at the distribution venue.

Baduku praised the university’s management, student leaders, and the state government for their quick response in providing medical assistance to the injured students.

Governor Abdullahi Sule had recently distributed palliatives to students of other institutions in the state, including the Federal University of Lafia, Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, and the College of Education, Akwanga.
