Jigawa Gov. Drums Support For IGR Improvements From Tax Institute

Jigawa state government under the administration of malam umar Namadi calls for support of charted instituted of taxation of Nigeria (CITN) to ensure sustained and improved internally generated revenue of Jigawa state.

The Governor made the call at the inauguration of pioneering executives of taxation institute of Nigeria of Jigawa District society.

The event took place place at Hasinah confectionery and restaurant plot 44a Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi way, Dutse Jigawa state.

The roles of the district office is to manage the affairs of taxation in Jigawa state and also register students membership, registration,professional practices, regulations, consultancy and issuing of professional licenses to the new members.

The inaugurated executives are Abdullahi S.G Shehu current state account general as chairman of Jigawa and district society, Dr Nasir Sabo Idris (ACTI) present executive chairman Jigawa state Internal Revenue Service (JIRS) as Deputy chairman, Hassan Hashim as Secretary General among others.

The inauguration was dully performed officially and witnessed under the authority of Mr Samuel O.Agbeluyi Mni, FCTI the 16th president and chairman of council the charted institute of taxation of Nigeria.

The Governor was represented by the commissioner of finance, Professor Hannatu Sabo Ahmad noted that for decades over 80 percent of Jigawa state budget depends on federal allocation added that in order to change the narratives the government of Jigawa Mallam umar Namadi has mapped out 12 point agenda with the view of ensuring total commitment and improvements of revenue generations of the state interms of IGR

She however,noted that governor umar namadi is ever ready to collaborate with professional bodies like CITN and other critical stakeholders in building sustainable economic Initiatives, growth and development across Jigawa state.

Meanwhile in his remarks, the national president of the institute of taxation of Nigeria Mr Samuel reiterated that Jigawa governor is passionate about development initiatives towards improving internally generated revenue of the state, being a professional financial expert and Jigawa state chief executive officer,the president equally pointed out he appreciates God for given him opportunity to witness this inauguration and however urges the new executives to reflect on their versatility and commitment in ensuring due process and effective practices has been followed professional in the interest of sustainable revenue generations of Jigawa state and her citizens.

The president equally mentioned that he is optimistic that the inauguration of Jigawa state district office of CITN and its chief executives, the district will partner with state and Federal agencies in ensuring complete development initiatives, globally acceptable practices of taxation with the view to promote and enhance greater and sustainable tax collections in Jigawa state.

In another development, the chairman Jigawa state board of Internal Revenue Service, Dr Nasir Sabo Idris FCA, lead the entourage on a courtesy visit to the royal father Emir of Dutse, Dr Hamim Muhammadu Sunusi along with president of charted institute of taxation of Nigeria, Mr Samuel O. Agbeluyi

The Emir appreciates the professional body for the historic visit of his palace and urged them to redouble their positive contributions and commitment in the best interests of humanity, Jigawa state and Nigeria in general.
