COAS Vows Enhanced Support to Tackle Security Challenges in Zamfara

In a demonstration of appreciation and solidarity, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited the 1 Brigade Nigerian Army stationed in Zamfara State on April 6, 2024.

His visit was not only an opportunity to commend the troops for their unwavering commitment but also a chance to assess the progress of Operation Desert Sanity II, the ongoing military operation in the region.

During his engagement with Brig. Gen. Sani Ahmed, the Commander of 1 Brigade, Gen. Lagbaja received a comprehensive briefing on the achievements and challenges faced by the troops. In response, he pledged increased support, including essential resources and equipment, to enhance the brigade’s capabilities in addressing security threats effectively.

Recognizing the critical role of community cooperation in combating terrorism and insurgency, Gen. Lagbaja emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between the military and local residents.

His visit also included a courtesy call to the Emir of Gusau, where he expressed gratitude for the continuous support of the royal family and the community.
