BREAKING: Eid-el-Fitr to be Celebrated on Wednesday, Sultan Announces

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has officially declared Wednesday, April 10, as Eid-el-Fitr.

As the President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the Sultan’s decision came after receiving reports from National Moon Sighting Committees nationwide confirming the absence of the new moon.

In a statement released by Prof Sambo Junaidu, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council, it was announced that Wednesday, April 10, 2024, will mark the first day of Shawwal 1445AH.

His Eminence extends his warm wishes to the Nigerian Muslim community, urging them to seek Allah’s guidance and blessings. He also calls upon Muslims to continue praying for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the nation, extending heartfelt Eid-El-Fitr greetings to all.
