Bobrisky Receives Six-Month Prison Sentence

Idris Olarewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months in prison by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The controversial crossdresser was found guilty of abusing the naira, with Justice Abimbola Awogboro delivering the verdict.

Bobrisky, who pleaded guilty to the charge filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, will serve his jail term without the option of a fine. The judge emphasized that the judgment should serve as a deterrent to others.

Bobrisky had requested a lighter sentence, citing ignorance of the law, but the judge reiterated that ignorance of the law is not an excuse.
