APC Suspends Ganduje’s Ward Executive Committee for Six Months

The purported suspension of All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje by the Ganduje Ward of the party in Dawakin-Tofa Local Government of Kano State has been declared illegal, null, and void by the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party.

Earlier today, the Ward, represented by nine of its executive members, announced the suspension of Dr. Ganduje, citing alleged corruption and other misconduct.

In response, the State Executive Committee (SEC) swiftly suspended the Ward Executives for what it deemed as externally influenced actions.

Dr. Ganduje is currently facing legal proceedings initiated by the Kano State Government, under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), regarding allegations of corruption.

Malam Haladu Gwanjo, claiming to be the Legal Adviser at the Ward level, accused the former governor of “gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds during his administration in Kano.”

Speaking on behalf of others, Gwanjo stated: “We passed a vote of no confidence on the National Chairman due to his inability to clear his name from corruption allegations, particularly the ‘dollar video’ that went viral.

“The APC leaders in Ganduje Ward are concerned about the unnecessary embarrassment from the rival New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) over unproven corruption allegations against Ganduje’s administration.

“To enable Ganduje to focus on his legal matters and clear his name, we have decided to suspend him from his position as national chairman.

“President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to the fight against corruption underscores the need for Ganduje to address these allegations promptly, as they tarnish the reputation of the APC-led federal government.

“We, the APC leaders in Ganduje Ward, have taken this proactive step to preserve the reputation of our political party,” he concluded.

However, the state chapter of the party swiftly condemned the suspension announcement and vowed to take appropriate measures against those involved.
