Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has taken decisive action by appointing Major Maikano Adamu (retd.) as the Acting Commandant of the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards, following the recent suspension of Col. Rabiu Garba Yandoto (retd.).
This appointment, effective immediately, was announced by the state Commissioner for Information, Munnir Haidara, in a statement on Thursday.
Major Maikano Adamu brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the Deputy Commandant.
His appointment underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining the security and well-being of the people of Zamfara State.
The suspension of Col. Rabiu Garba Yandoto (retd.) stemmed from his public criticism of the state government’s funding of the outfit. Such remarks are deemed inappropriate for a senior official and necessitated this action to ensure the professionalism and integrity of the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards.
