Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the prosecution of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, despite mounting pressure.
Speaking at the EFCC Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, Olukoyede emphasized his determination to see the case against Bello through to its conclusion.
He vowed to hold accountable anyone who hindered Bello’s arrest and promised that justice would prevail.
The EFCC is pushing for Bello to face trial on 19 counts related to alleged money laundering and misappropriation of N80.2 billion.
Olukoyede stressed the importance of public support for the EFCC’s efforts, highlighting the impact on Nigeria’s economy and stability.
In related developments, the EFCC has provided a copy of the charge sheet to Bello and his lawyer, Abdulwahab Mohamed, following a court order due to Bello’s absence during his arraignment.
