WaterAid, RUWASSA Organise 5-Day Workshop on Water, Sanitation, Hygiene Issues

Representatives from the Bauchi State House of Assembly, media managers, civil society organizations, and other relevant bodies convened in Bauchi for a five-day workshop focusing on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) issues.

Hosted by WaterAid Nigeria in partnership with the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), the workshop aimed to address crucial aspects of WASH through presentations by resource persons.

During his keynote address, Mr. Nanpet Chuktu, Head of Program at WaterAid Nigeria, emphasized the workshop’s significance in equipping participants with the necessary tools to collaborate with relevant entities in tackling WASH challenges in Bauchi State.

He underscored the agency’s mandate to ensure access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities in essential public spaces such as schools, healthcare centers, and markets to promote public health.

Mr. Chuktu urged attendees to actively engage with the presentations and recognized the support provided by government agencies and development partners.

As the workshop concluded, participants committed to implementing the knowledge gained to achieve excellence in addressing WASH issues in their respective roles.

Expressing gratitude, participants commended WaterAid Nigeria and RUWASA for providing the platform and pledged to utilize the acquired insights effectively, ensuring the workshop’s impact reverberates throughout the region.
