Amidst legal challenges, the suspension of Dr. Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, initiated a legal confrontation.
The Kano State High Court, presided over by Justice Usman Na’Abba, scheduled May 27 for preliminary objection, jurisdiction, and joinder applications.
Following the suspension by the APC executive in Dawakin ward, Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, the court initially upheld the suspension but later vacated the order.
Meanwhile, an ex parte order by Justice A. M. Liman of the Federal High Court in Kano restrained the implementation of the suspension until further legal proceedings.
During the recent hearing, the ward executive members who suspended Ganduje sought an interim injunction. The respondents, including APC and Ganduje, challenged the jurisdiction of the court.
The court granted an extension to allow both parties to serve their processes and address the pending applications.
