Court Blocks Arrest of Actress Mansura Isah in Sexual Assault Case

A Kannywood actress Mansurah Isah has taken legal action against the Kano Hisbah Board and the Kano Commissioner of Police, filing a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in the state. Represented by her lawyer, Barrister Ibrahim Abdullahi Chedi, Mansurah’s lawsuit comes in response to her publicized allegations of sexual assault involving a minor within a public primary school in the state, which she brought to light via her social media platforms. These allegations prompted her call for government intervention.

However, the Kano State government, through Commissioner of Education Umar Doguwa, refuted Mansurah’s claims, emphasizing the need for concerns to be directed through official channels rather than social media. Doguwa encouraged the public to engage with the government directly, as they are accessible and willing to address such matters.

Concerned about potential arrest by Hisbah and the state police, Mansurah swiftly sought legal recourse, obtaining a court order restraining both entities from arresting her pending the resolution of the ongoing lawsuit.

In response, the Director-General of the Kano Hisbah Board refuted Mansurah’s allegations, stating that her claims were found to be false after inviting her for interrogation.
