Tambuwal to Tinubu: You Can’t Distance Yourself from Buhari’s Failures

Former governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial Zone, Aminu Tambuwal, has urged President Bola Tinubu to cease making negative remarks about former President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.

Tambuwal, who served as the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 general elections, asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) lacked a coherent plan for securing the country from the outset, focusing solely on gaining power.

“The Tinubu administration, which has failed to secure Nigerians and promote development, is now distancing itself from Buhari’s failures,” Tambuwal stated.

He criticized Tinubu for allowing his aides and ministers to attack the previous APC government under Buhari, from which Tinubu has significantly benefitted as an APC member.

“President Tinubu should concentrate on governing Nigeria with serious intent and not let narrow-minded tendencies within his administration undermine his plans for national security, cohesion, and development,” he added.

Speaking at a PDP stakeholders meeting in Sokoto State on Sunday, Tambuwal urged party supporters to remain united and politically astute despite current national challenges.

“No one can transform our country better than we can, through determination and commitment to a good cause. Our supporters should stay united to advance the party’s progress,” he emphasized.

He praised the leadership of PDP Sokoto State for their dedication and efforts in fostering party unity and development. Tambuwal also encouraged members to participate actively in the ongoing party registration drive in the state.
