The Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) are set to convene a joint extraordinary National Executive Council (NEC) meeting today, Tuesday. The meeting, which is expected to commence shortly, will determine the fate of the ongoing strike action by the organised labour.

The labour unions have been demanding a new minimum wage of ₦494,000, while the government has offered a 100% increase from the current wage of ₦30,000, which is ₦60,000. The strike, which began on Monday, has led to widespread disruptions in various sectors, including transportation, education, and healthcare.
