Kano Govt House Press Crew Defies NUJ, Pledges to Cover all Yusuf Activities

The Kano State Government House Press Crew has publicly rejected the recent decision by the Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to boycott coverage of the Kano State Government’s activities.

In a statement issued on Monday, Adamu Dabo, Chairman of the Kano Government House Press Crew, clarified the crew’s stance on the boycott.

“This statement aims to clear up any misunderstandings that have arisen due to misinterpretations and misquotations by certain vernacular online newspapers and bloggers,” Dabo stated. “The actions of the Correspondent Chapel do not reflect the unified position of the entire press crew stationed at the Government House. The press crew unequivocally distances itself from the decision made by the Correspondent Chapel to boycott covering government activities.”

The statement emphasized that the Government House Press Crew remains dedicated to their duty of covering government events and activities. It assured the public that their working relationship with the Kano State Government remains strong, cordial, and unwavering.

“The crew is committed to continuing their coverage and maintaining a positive relationship with the government,” the statement added.
