Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved the immediate payment of a wage award to State and Local Government workers ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Governor’s approval was conveyed in a statement on Thursday by Mohammed Sani Umar, the Permanent Secretary, Establishment, on behalf of the State Head of Civil Service.
According to the statement, the governor’s directive includes a payment of N10,000 to each civil servant as a wage award to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges and to provide additional resources for the workers ahead of the festive period.
Umar added that the State Head of Civil Service appreciated the governor’s support and urged the workers to reciprocate this gesture with dedication to their duties.
The statement partly reads: “In his continued efforts to improve the welfare of civil servants, His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON (Kauran Bauchi), the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has directed the immediate payment of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) to all categories of civil servants in both the State and Local Government Areas, as a wage award.
“This gesture will provide additional resources to civil servants to celebrate Eid-El-Kabir in high spirits amidst the challenging economic situation.
“The Head of Civil Service wishes to thank His Excellency, the Governor, for his numerous supports and urges the workers to reciprocate the gesture by dedicating themselves to their duties, aiming to improve and consolidate the gains made so far.”
