BREAKING: Kano Court Puts Off Hearing on Suit Against Bayero, Four Others as Emirs

Kano, Nigeria – The Kano State High Court has adjourned a suit aiming to prevent the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and four others from assuming the titles and roles of Emirs in the state. The case will resume on July 2, 2024.

Presiding over the case on Monday was Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu. The suit challenges the legitimacy of Aminu Ado Bayero and the four others as Emirs following their deposition. The specifics of the plaintiffs’ arguments and the broader implications for Kano’s traditional leadership structure remain to be detailed.

Further updates and details about the court proceedings will be provided as they become available.
