PoS Operator Arrested for Allegedly Supplying Sex Workers to Bandits

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has apprehended a Point of Sale (PoS) operator, Sunday Musa, also known as Dan Gwari, for allegedly supplying sex workers to bandits and distributing money to their families in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Benneth Igweh, the FCT commissioner of police, revealed the arrest while parading the suspect in Abuja on Tuesday. Musa was detained during a coordinated clearance operation by the anti-kidnap unit in Kagarko.

Igweh stated that Musa served as the chief informant and logistics supplier to banditry groups led by a commander known as Ardo, who is currently at large. Musa confessed to facilitating the movement of nurses, hard drugs, and sex workers upon the request of the bandits.

“The suspect has also confessed to being a financial courier, distributing over N20 million on behalf of the bandits to their families,” Igweh said.

Igweh further revealed that the bandits, led by Ardo, comprise over 15 members, all armed with AK-47 rifles. Additionally, the police have arrested a 41-year-old housewife, Ruqquaya Ibrahim, who allegedly supplies food and other logistics to the bandits.

Ruqquaya Ibrahim, a resident of Sabon-Wuse, Niger State, confessed to supplying food items to a group under the command of Shumau, another bandit leader currently on the run. She was arrested at Gidan-Dogo forest while en route to deliver supplies and subsequently led the police to Shumau’s residence, where 14 rustled cows were recovered.
