Zamfara Govt Debunks Rumors of NYSC Member’s Abuse in Kaura Namoda

The attention of the Zamfara State Government has been drawn to a misleading story circulating on a social media platform regarding an alleged incident of maltreatment involving one National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) member in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, Zamfara State.

To set the record straight, the Zamfara State Government wishes to categorically inform the general public that the alleged incident concerning the NYSC member occurred in 2015. Both the NYSC and security agencies were involved in the matter, which has since been amicably settled by the Zamfara State Police Command.

Furthermore, the general public is hereby informed that the misinformation currently circulating on social media platforms is false and grossly misrepresented to distract from the good work of His Excellency. The picture alongside the news story has no connection with the actual person involved in the matter; it is an unrelated image being used to mislead the public.

The Zamfara State Government is calling on the general public, NYSC Secretariat, and security agencies to disregard this false story perpetrated on social media to create disharmony among non-indigenes residing in Zamfara State.

Accordingly, the state government under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Dauda Lawal calls on social media influencers to always verify their stories before posting. The administration is committed to protecting the lives and properties of all citizens, irrespective of their tribe or religion, posted to the state.
