Tapswap, a prominent tap-to-earn app operating on the TON Blockchain, has postponed its token allocation to users, now slated for the third quarter of the year. The app, which launched on February 15, 2024, has rapidly garnered over 50 million users, particularly in Nigeria, where participants tap a central icon on the Telegram Tapswap bot to mine coins.
Originally scheduled for July 1, the share-to-token exchange event has been moved to the third quarter to enhance the user experience. The management shared this update on X, explaining that the delay allows for more thorough work on tokenomics and the launch strategy, ultimately benefiting the users.
Amidst the excitement, Tapswap is in discussions with tier 1 exchanges to price the game accurately and protect it from scammers. The management expressed confidence in these talks, highlighting the community’s role in attracting such attention.
John Robbin, Tapswap’s Head of Communications, disclosed on June 20, 2024, that the token allocation method remains undecided and will be communicated in due course. The previous postponement was due to issues with bot accounts, pushing the initial May date to July 1.
Despite the delay, the management encouraged users to remain optimistic about future announcements regarding tier 1 partnerships and the token drop. The enthusiasm among Nigerian users remains high, with many eagerly anticipating the token allocation to fulfill personal aspirations.
Viral videos have depicted the widespread engagement, including a Keke driver tapping on his phone while driving and traders in Northern Nigeria participating actively.
Tapswap continues to value user support and feedback, promising a fair and profitable launch in the upcoming quarter.
