Kaduna Electric Announces Tariff Hike for Band A Customers

The Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company has announced a tariff adjustment affecting customers on Band A feeders, scheduled to take effect from July 1, 2024. According to Abdulazeez Abdullahi, the Head of Corporate Communication for the company, the new tariff for Band A customers will rise to ₦209.5/kWh, up from the previous rate of ₦206.80/kWh.

In a statement titled ‘Upward Review of Tariff for Band A Feeders,’ Abdullahi reassured both prepaid and postpaid customers on Band A feeders of continued electricity supply for 20-24 hours daily, as outlined in the Service Based Tariff regime.

“Dear esteemed customers, the Management of Kaduna Electric wishes to inform the public of an upward review in the tariff of Band A feeders from ₦206.80/kWh to ₦209.5/kWh, effective from 1st July 2024. This adjustment applies to both prepaid and postpaid customers,” the statement read.

Abdullahi also clarified that the tariff rates for Bands B, C, D, and E remain unchanged, underscoring the company’s commitment to balancing service quality and operational efficiency amidst changing dynamics in the energy market.
