Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has clarified that the release of Nnamdi Kanu was not discussed during his recent meeting with South-East governors in Enugu State on Tuesday.
Obasanjo, along with Chief Emeka Anyaoku, met with the governors at their invitation to discuss regional development issues.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, the discussions focused on security, infrastructure, and economic cooperation to complement the national development agenda.
“The meeting with the governors was at my invitation and Chief Emeka Anyaoku before their summit began. The issue of Nnamdi Kanu was not on the agenda and was not discussed in my presence,” Obasanjo stated.
