President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
In a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s spokesman, it was also revealed that Sen. Adedayo Adeyeye has been named the Chairman of the NPA Board.
Dr. Dantsoho brings a wealth of academic and professional experience to the role. He holds a Ph.D. in maritime technology from Liverpool John Moores University and a master’s degree in international transport from Cardiff University of Wales. His previous roles within the NPA include Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager at Onne Port, and Principal Manager of Tariff & Billing.
Senator Adeyeye, the newly appointed Board Chairman, is an experienced lawyer, journalist, and politician. He previously served as the Minister of State for Works and as a senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District.
The President has expressed confidence that the new leadership will enhance the efficiency of port services and improve industry outcomes.
