BREAKING: Building Collapse In Abuja Leaves Many Trapped (Photos)

A portion of a two-storey residential building in Abuja collapsed on Saturday morning, leaving several people trapped in the debris.

Previously functioning as a hotel named Al-Hilal and later as a hospital, the structure now serves as a residential apartment situated next to the well-known Cupid Hotel on Cupid Road (Sultan Dasuki Way) in Kubwa.

Emergency responders and security personnel were promptly on the scene. However, rescue operations faced delays due to the unavailability of necessary cranes, which had not arrived by 8:45 am, nearly two hours post-collapse.

Two individuals have been transported to a nearby hospital, and a few others have managed to escape on their own.

One of the escapees, who wished to remain anonymous, shared that she heard cracking sounds around 7 a.m. after waking up and quickly exited the building.
