The Secretary to the Zamfara State Government (SSG), Malam Abubakar Mohammed Nakwada, participated in a one-day consultative meeting for policymakers and practitioners on peacebuilding in Abuja on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by Suleman Ahmad Tudu, Senior Special Assistant on New Media in the Office of the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, the meeting was organized by the National Counter Terrorism Center, Office of the National Security Adviser, in collaboration with the Program for South-South Cooperation for Peacebuilding, Colombia.
The interactive forum provided an avenue for stakeholders in peacebuilding to engage with the Colombian team on critical topics such as preventing and countering violent extremism, identifying the country’s needs and priorities, and co-creating a tailored learning route for peacebuilding across Nigeria.
Nakwada utilized the opportunity to exchange thoughts with other stakeholders, aiming to leverage various realistic and experience-based peacebuilding approaches. This aligns with Governor Dauda Lawal’s efforts to find lasting solutions to the over-a-decade-long security challenges affecting Zamfara State.
During the event, the SSG reiterated the unwavering commitment of Governor Lawal’s administration to continue collaborating with all security stakeholders and partners within and outside Nigeria for the security and well-being of the people of Zamfara State. He emphasized that they will not relent until peace is restored in the state, Insha Allah.
