The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Bello Olatunji as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice Chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
The confirmation took place yesterday following the presentation and consideration of the report by the Committee on Trade and Investment, chaired by Senator Suleiman Sadiq (APC, Kwara North).
In his presentation, Sadiq stated: “That the Senate do receive and consider the report of the Committee on Trade and Investment on the confirmation of the nomination of Dr. Bello Olatunji for appointment as the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Vice Chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).”
Last month, President Bola Tinubu had written to the Senate, requesting the screening and confirmation of Dr. Bello Olatunji for this role.
Additionally, the Senate confirmed the appointment of Dr. Jobson Ewalefoh as Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC). This confirmation also followed the presentation and consideration of the report by Senator Suleiman Sadiq.
