Abuja Protest: Brave Mother Stands Up to Police with Baby, Despite Teargas, Pepper Spray

Officers of the Nigeria Police stationed at Eagles Square in Abuja dispersed a group of protesters on Thursday using teargas and pepper spray.

The incident occurred today when police fired warning shots into the ground before deploying teargas canisters. During the confrontation, an enraged protester, holding a baby, approached the officers, daring them to shoot.

Tensions escalated as other protesters joined her in confronting the police, prompting the officers to respond with pepper spray and additional teargas to disperse the crowd.

As of the time of this report, it remains unclear whether the police have arrested the unidentified woman who confronted them while holding the baby.
