APC Headquarters Set Ablaze by Angry Youths in Protest

The headquarters of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Jigawa State, is currently on fire, following violent protests against hunger.

During the unrest, protesters in Dutse, the state capital, targeted the APC secretariat, destroying billboards and other materials before setting the building ablaze, according to Daily Trust. Vehicles parked on the premises were also torched.

The violence spread to other areas of the state, with armed youths causing chaos despite security efforts to control the situation.

In Birnin Kudu, where several people were injured, the State Fertilizer Store and Grains Store were vandalized and looted, and the Agricultural Supply Company, JASCO, store in Gumel was also attacked.

The mob also attacked residence of the House of Representatives member representing Gumel, Gagarawa and Maigarati, as well as the residence of the APC Zonal Vice Chairman.
