Edo Police to Distribute Water, Sweets to #EndBadGovernance Protesters

As the #EndBadGovernance protests are set to commence nationwide, the Edo State Police Command has expressed its readiness to ensure the safety of peaceful demonstrators.

During a press briefing on Wednesday evening, the Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, announced that sachet water and sweets will be distributed to protesters, provided that the demonstrations remain non-violent.

“We had a meeting with some protest leaders and agreed that the protests must be peaceful. We are committed to protecting the demonstrators, but there will be no road blockades or acts of violence,” Adegboye stated.

He further emphasized that the police will offer support to the protesters by providing sachet water and sweets. “We have agreed that they will only occupy Kings Square, which is the designated venue for the protest,” he added.

Recognizing the citizens’ right to protest, the commissioner assured that those who choose not to participate can continue with their daily activities without disruption.

However, Adegboye issued a firm warning to potential troublemakers, stating that any attempts to disturb the peace during the protests would be dealt with decisively.
