Tragic incident in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, a young boy was fatally shot by the Nigerian Police Force as the #EndBadGovernance protest entered its third day.
The boy, who was reportedly an innocent bystander, was shot at close range near the Zenith Bank area in Kubwa. According to eyewitnesses, the deceased had no involvement in the protest.
“The boy was not part of the protesters; he was just walking by when the police pointed a gun at us from a different position,” said an eyewitness who spoke shortly after the incident.
Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju condemned the killing, describing it as an unprovoked murder. He stated, “The boy was merely watching the protesters when he was shot dead. IGP Kayode Egbetokun and his men must be held accountable for this senseless act. This young boy was shot in the neck at close range while simply observing the #EndBadGovernance protest.”
The incident has sparked outrage and further fueled the ongoing demonstrations against police brutality and governance issues in Nigeria.
