Hoodlums Overpowered Security in Kaduna, Soldiers Deployed to Restore Order

On Monday, violent clashes erupted in Tudun Wada, Kaduna, between local hoodlums and security operatives, leading to widespread destruction and looting. The unrest escalated as large groups of youths took to the streets, vandalizing properties and ransacking shops.

Order was eventually restored when military forces were deployed to the area. Prior to their arrival, hundreds of miscreants had targeted a commercial bank near a local polytechnic, pelting the building with stones and other objects. They also vandalized staff vehicles and stole valuables from the premises.

The chaotic scene forced businesses to shut down abruptly, with customers and workers fleeing for safety. The situation in Tudun Wada remained tense until a curfew was imposed and soldiers were stationed to maintain order.

Earlier, the police had issued a stern warning, stating that anyone caught vandalizing or looting would be treated as a criminal, not a protester. Authorities also reported the arrest of several individuals who were allegedly supplying the protesters with Russian flags and other provocative items used during the unrest.
