President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of former Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, along with six other distinguished Nigerians, to serve on the board of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
According to a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Masari has been appointed as the Chairman of the TETFund board. The other appointed members include Senator Sani Danladi, Mr. Sunday Adepoju, Mr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, Mrs. Esther Onyinyechukwu Ukachukwu, Mr. Turaki Ibrahim, and Mr. Aboh Eduyok.
President Tinubu emphasized the importance of this board, highlighting its critical role in supporting tertiary education across Nigeria. He expects the new board members to demonstrate dedication and commitment in advancing TETFund’s mission of enhancing the productivity and quality of higher education in the country.
TETFund plays a pivotal role in the development of Nigeria’s tertiary institutions by providing financial support for infrastructure, academic staff training, and research, thereby contributing significantly to the improvement of the nation’s educational standards.
