President Bola Tinubu has appointed 10 individuals to serve on the governing councils of two federal tertiary institutions: the Maritime Academy of Nigeria in Oron, Akwa Ibom State, and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The appointments were announced on Wednesday in a statement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale. The statement, titled ‘President Tinubu Appoints Governing Councils of Two Federal Tertiary Institutions,’ outlined the President’s selections for these key educational bodies.
For the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, the appointees are:
- Kehinde Akinola — Chairman
- Shehu Maigari Doguwa — Member
- Samuel Isichei — Member
- Faisal Lawal Halidu — Member
At the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, the following individuals were appointed:
- Anthony Manzo — Chairman
- Ngozi Okuoma — Member
- Durungunwa Abdulmalik — Member
- Biodun Taiwo — Member
- Florence Toyin Olorunfemi — Member
President Tinubu has tasked the newly appointed board members with serving “with integrity and devotion to the enhancement of their structural, academic, and all-around standards,” according to the statement.
This announcement follows other recent appointments to the governing councils of federal educational institutions, reflecting the President’s focus on strengthening the leadership of key sectors in the country.
